  • 8 oz Flank Steak
  • 2 Tablespoons Rice Wine
  • 1.5 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 5 slices ginger
  • 2.5 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons Ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons Hoisin Sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Chili Bean Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • 1 each Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 each small onion
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 2 each scallions


  • Freeze the beef until firm (15 to 20 minutes).
  • Slice across the grain into this strips.
  • Marinate the beef with soy sauce and rice wine.
  • To the marinated beef add cornstarch and ginger.
  • Make the sauce, cut up veggies, make a cornstarch slurry and measure out veggie stock.
  • Heat the wok, add oil and sear the beef.
  • Remove the beef and add the onion and bell pepper. Cook until they pick up some color.
  • Add the veggie stock and bring to a boil. Add the sauce stir it in. Add the cornstarch slurry. When it's back to a boil and thickened add the beef and heat thru.
  • Remove to your serving dish and garnish with green onion.
